Ian grew up in West Wyalong, New South Wales. He is an experienced optometrist having graduated from the University of NSW over 30 years ago. After working for 2.5 years in private practice in Newcastle Ian moved to Tasmania. Whilst working in Launceston the opportunity arose to purchase the practice of Mr G. B. Lawrence in Devonport. The practice was originally upstairs in the Devonport Mall.
In 1989 the practice moved to its present location in Best Street. Ian enjoys all aspects of his work and is committed to improving optometry standards through continuing education. Since graduating Ian has completed a postgraduate course in ocular therapeutics through the State University of New York and is registered to prescribe therapeutic drugs in Australia. He is a member of Optometry Australia, Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia and ProVision.
Outside of work Ian enjoys running, fitness, travel and spending time with his wife and children.
Donna joined the practice in 1989. She completed her Diploma in Optical Dispensing in 1992. She loves all aspects of her work, especially getting to know our clients and helping them choose the perfect frame for their face.
When she is not at work Donna enjoys collecting brooches, relaxing with her family and walking her dogs.
Ruby is the receptionist at Ian Frame EyeCare, since August 2019. She brings 7 years experience in retail sales to the practice. She enjoys the personal touch that comes with working in an independent optometrist store and loves to have a good chat with everyone who comes in the door. Ruby says, “the best part of the job is seeing our satisfied patients walk out the door with a smile on their face because they love their new glasses.”
In her spare time Ruby enjoys reading books, hiking and spending time with her family.
